Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district launched searches after Pakistani drones were spotted over forward villages. The BSF and local police are cordoning off areas to prevent possible airdrops of weapons or narcotics.
A suspected Pakistani drone was sighted hovering over Nanga village in J-K’s Samba district along the International Border. Security forces launched a search operation to rule out airdropping of weapons or narcotics, while security was heightened in nearby villages.
Security forces launched a joint search operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba after a suspected Pakistani drone was seen hovering over a military garrison in Bari Brahmana at 700 metres altitude. Army quick reaction teams and police were immediately alerted.
The Pakistani military tried to target several locations, including Awantipura, Srinagar, Jammu, Pathankot, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Adampur, Bhatinda, Chandigarh, Nal, Phalodi, Uttarlai, and Bhuj, according to the defence ministry. However, these attempts were thwarted by the Integrated Counter Unmanned Aircraft System (Grid and Air Defence systems).
