“The one-size-fits-all approach cannot work anymore since businesses, their operations and their wallets are different and complex”, said Sarbvir Singh, CEO, Policybazaar.

It said 61% of the respondents invested in a comprehensive health plan while 10% respondents who went for Covid-specific policies.

The broking licence will allow the company to venture into segments like claims assistance, offline services, and establish points of presence network.

Policyholders must adhere to the terms and conditions of their health insurance policy including notifying the insurers of pre-existing illnesses, planned or emergency hospitalisations.

Of all the health insurance policies sold by Policybazaar, the share of policies bought by those with pre-existing conditions was 30%.

Policybazaar.com surveyed more than 22,726 insurance buyers who used the company's mobile application between September 10 and 25, 2020, it said.
