Gold futures rose Rs 294 to Rs 1,41,200 per 10 grams on the Multi Commodity Exchange on Monday, driven by fresh buying and firm spot demand. However, global gold futures declined 0.17 per cent in New York amid mixed market sentiment

In the international market, both gold and silver were trading flat at USD 1,738 per ounce and USD 25.53 per ounce, respectively.

In the international market, gold declined to USD 1,835 per ounce and silver was flat at USD 23.84 per ounce.

The rupee depreciated 16 paise and settled at 73.87 against the US dollar on Wednesday as heavy selling in the domestic equity market.
