Thirty-six Amarnath pilgrims sustained minor injuries after five buses in a yatra convoy collided near Chanderkoot in Ramban district due to brake failure. Officials ensured prompt medical aid, and the convoy resumed its journey after replacing damaged vehicles.
Officials reported that early Friday morning, a cab carrying passengers veered out of control and plunged into a deep gorge near Battery Chashma on the national highway in Ramban district.
"The highway has been blocked by landslide at T 2 Marog in Ramban district. "Amarnath Yatra will remain suspended till the road is restored," officials said.
"Medium danger avalanche warning has been issued for higher reaches of Kishtwar, Kupwara and Bandipora districts," an official of the disaster management department said.
