Sources said the male elephant along with another elephant was roaming in the forests of Chandrapur district of Maharashtra for a few months

Forest officials, in a statement, said that the wild tusker entered the forests of Aheri range in neighboring Maharashtra after crossing Pranahita river at Jilleda village in Penchikalpet mandal on Saturday morning.

Kawal Tiger Reserve Field Director S Shantharam, in a press statement, said the elephant was currently in the waters of Pranahita river by crossing the two villages around 8 pm.
