Telangana Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar announced that the merger of the TGSRTC with the government will take place after trade union elections. He assured employees that their concerns would be addressed soon.
Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said the Telangana government remains committed to merging RTC with the government and will form a committee with union representatives and officials. He also announced early union elections and criticised former MP Balka Suman over alleged remarks on damaging public assets
Talks between the TGSRTC JAC and the State government concluded successfully after the government agreed to implement 10 percent PRC, merge RTC with the government, and conduct union elections.
The much-awaited talks between the Telangana government-appointed committee and the TGSRTC Joint Action Committee ended in deadlock, paving the way for an indefinite RTC strike from midnight. Despite appeals from senior officials for four weeks’ time to address concerns, unions rejected the proposal.
