He recalled her courage in declining the Padma Bhushan and highlighted her Telangana roots, calling her demise an irreparable loss to South Indian music.
Veteran playback singer S Janaki, celebrated for her versatility across Indian languages, passed away in Mysuru at the age of 88 due to age-related ailments. She recorded over 48,000 songs in a six-decade career spanning films, albums, radio and television.
