BRS leader T Harish Rao alleged that the Congress government had failed to safeguard Telangana’s water interests as Andhra Pradesh sought a review of clearances for key irrigation projects before the August 18 GRMB meeting. He warned of statewide protests if Telangana’s water rights were affected.

Sabharwal said the barrage, regulator and railing works should be completed by the month end to store water.
