The Telangana Assembly was adjourned for 15 minutes on Monday after BJP MLAs demanded a judicial probe by a sitting judge into lands and properties included in the prohibited category under Section 22-A, despite the government offering a short discussion.
Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has suspected that some officials from the previous government may have been involved in placing properties on the 22-A prohibited list. He promised a comprehensive inquiry and strict action against those found responsible.
BRS Deputy Floor Leader T Harish Rao accused the Telangana government of misusing Section 22-A to place properties under the prohibited list and demanded a white paper on land additions since December 7, 2023, besides criticising Kalyana Lakshmi implementation.
