The three freedom fighters were hanged to death by Britishers on March 23, 1931, in the Lahore conspiracy case.

He said the struggle for freedom was carried out in many forms and finally the country achieved independence due to great sacrifices made by numerous freedom fighters.

March 23 is observed as 'Shaheed Diwas' to pay tribute to the trio who were hanged for killing British police officer J P Saunders.
