Two years into the Congress rule, Telangana’s irrigation sector has seen slow progress with no major new project launches. While the government revived select schemes and targeted partially completed works, funding gaps and setbacks such as the SLBC tunnel collapse have hindered advancement.
BRS leader K.T. Rama Rao credited the commissioning of the Sitarama Lift Irrigation Scheme and Yadadri Power Plant to K. Chandrashekhar Rao’s vision. He praised both projects as outcomes of long-term planning and leadership beyond short-term politics.
