According to a study led by the University of Munich, around one-third of people with heart disease experience sleep problems such as insomnia, sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome, and frequent waking throughout the night.

Sleep problems included getting too much or too little sleep, taking long naps, having poor quality sleep, snoring, snorting and sleep apnea

The study was conducted by Jayaram Thimmapuram, Robert Pargament, Theodore Bell and Holly Schurk of the WellSpan Hospital, Department of Internal Medicine, York, PA; and Divya K. Madhusudhan

The study led by the University of South Florida found better sleep improves next-day mindfulness, which in turn, reduces sleepiness during the day.
