The West Bengal Transport Department announced free bus travel for women in all state-run buses from June 1, 2026. Eligible commuters will receive smart cards, while temporary access will be allowed through valid identity documents and zero-value tickets
Rail users with smart cards, which are used to purchase unreserved tickets and platform tickets, can now recharge them through online mechanism by registering on “UTS on mobile” web portal.
