Trai has proposed new rules allowing telecom operators to disconnect all phone connections of callers flagged for spam by AI systems, even without customer complaints. Trai has advised mobile users to report spam calls and messages through its DND app, saying that blocking numbers on devices does not stop spam at the source. The regulator has already disconnected over 21 lakh numbers based on user complaints
