The Green India Challenge's mangrove plantation drive in the Sundarbans has recorded a high survival rate, with saplings growing up to three feet tall. Organisers said the project highlights the value of scientific monitoring, community participation and long-term ecological restoration.

On the 72nd birthday of BRS chief and former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, a large-scale plantation drive was organised in the Sundarbans delta. Led by former Rajya Sabha MP J Santosh Kumar under the Green India Challenge, 10,000 mangrove saplings were planted to strengthen coastal resilience and biodiversity.
