A sub-adult tigress from Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve was tranquillised and captured for translocation to Sahyadri Tiger Reserve to boost genetic diversity and support breeding efforts. Officials conducted health checks and fitted a GPS collar ahead of a controlled soft release
Briefing details of the operation, Neeraj Kumar disclosed that the tiger was roaming in the forests located on the borders of both Telangana and Maharashtra. He asked the officials to be alert. He stated that 20 teams were scanning the forests to locate the tiger, while 21 CCTV cameras and a live camera were installed to capture its images.
