Private degree and PG colleges across Telangana have announced an indefinite closure starting September 16, citing Rs. 1,800 crore in pending fee reimbursements from the State government. The colleges have also decided to stop collecting examination fees from students and remitting them to universities.
Convinced with the TGCHE Chairman’s assurance, the TPDMA announced that they would cooperate with all the universities for the ensuing semester examinations commencing May 14 .
TPDMA President Bojja Suryanarayana Reddy and Secretary Yada Ramakrishna announced an indefinite bandh, citing non-cooperation from employees and college building owners, until the government clears the pending fee dues.
