Police have identified the driver of the TGSRTC hire bus that met with a tragic accident in Chevella as Dastagiri Baba. The bus conductor, Radha, survived with minor injuries. The vehicle was operating on hire from Tandur depot.
At least 20 passengers, including a woman and her infant daughter, were killed when a gravel-laden truck collided with a TSRTC bus near Mirzaguda village in Chevella. Rescue operations continued as several passengers remained trapped under debris.
The incident occurred when the bus was heading towards Achampet from the Umamaheswara Swamy temple. While travelling down the hillock, the bus suddenly lost control and slipped towards the gorge side
