Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw will launch tunnel-boring work for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project on Sunday. The project will mark the first use of tunnel boring machines for India's first high-speed rail corridor, including a 7-km undersea tunnel section

The operations were scaled up by engaging as many as four mini-excavators.

This location was found after the removal of layers of debris around the area where the locomotive train got buried under the collapsed roof of the tunnel.

Body suspected to be that of Tunnel Boring Machine operator Gurpreet Singh; physical identification process yet to commence

This is expected to speed up the removal of silt and debris from the tunnel and in turn, help the rescuers trace the missing eight persons.
