Chief Minister Revanth Reddy ignored the outcry over tree felling at the Agricultural University and instead urged women to plant saplings during the Vanamahotsavam launch. He also promised 60 Assembly seats for women following constituency delimitation.
The Telangana Forest Department is launching an afforestation drive in Eturnagaram to recover from the 2024 storm damage that uprooted 70,000 trees. Plans include grasslands, bamboo plantations and release of herbivores to restore wildlife and green cover.
Superintendent of Police Dr Janaki Sharmila informed that 1.98 lakh saplings were planted by the police department of the district so far under the initiative.
