Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam has made extensive security, medical, and crowd-management arrangements for party chief Vijay’s campaign meeting in Erode on December 18. The event is expected to draw over 35,000 people, with police overseeing entry and security.
Vijay left his Neelankarai residence to interact with the protesters, who have been agitating against the Greenfield Airport project for more than 900 days, the meeting is scheduled to take place at a wedding hall in Ekanapuram from noon to 1 pm
Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) Chief Vijay will lead a protest march which aims to highlight the ongoing agitation by residents of about 20 villages who have opposed the project since 2022. Vijay sought permission to hold the meeting on January 19 or 20, and Kanchipuram Police allowed him to do so on January 20
A press statement from Vijay‘s office said that TVK would be holding a meeting of its office bearers on Monday, February 19, at the party headquarters in Panaiyur at 9 a.m.
