Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar alleged that the Maharashtra government’s recent GR on Maratha quota harms OBC interests, fuels unrest, and spreads communal tension in Marathwada. He also criticised NCP leaders for hypocrisy and demanded government accountability over the reservation issue

He also launched a scathing attack on the state government, alleging that the violence in Nagpur was a "government-sponsored incident."

He contended that after the Lok Sabha elections, when the MVA trumped with a total of 31 seats, there was huge unrest among the legislators of the two parties which had split in June 2022 and July 2023.
