The BRS has demanded that the Congress government withdraw cases registered against 14 farmers for allegedly releasing water into the Jurala Left Canal without authorisation and issue an unconditional apology to the farming community.
Amarchinta Police have reportedly registered non-bailable cases against farmers and some political leaders for allegedly releasing water into the Jurala Left Canal without official permission to save standing crops. The action follows a complaint by irrigation officials and comes amid political support extended to the protesting farmers by the BRS.
