India emerged champions at the U23 Asian Wrestling Championships in Da Nang, Vietnam, topping the freestyle standings and finishing with 27 medals across categories. The women’s and Greco-Roman teams also delivered strong performances, marking a dominant continental campaign.
Nikhil Yadav (65kg), Syed Abu Huriara (70kg), Shaik Uzair (79kg), Sahil Singh (86kg), Syed Maharoos (97kg), and Mohd Khaja Talibuddin (125kg+) won gold medals, while Shaik Nizam secured second place in the 74kg category, playing a key role in the team’s impressive victory.
