Tahsildar arrested for sexually harassing woman officer in Jagtial

Jagtial town police arrested Pegadapalli Tahsildar Ravinder on Friday following a complaint of sexual harassment filed by a woman officer. The incident reportedly occurred during an enquiry related to Indiramma housing beneficiaries in Nukapalli.

Jagtial: Jagtial town police on Friday arrested Pegadapalli Tahsildar, Ravinder on charges of sexually harassing a woman officer. According to police, in order to provide Indiramma houses to beneficiaries, district administration had constituted enquiry teams under the supervision of mandal-level officers.

Pegadapalli Tahsildar Ravinder was heading the Jagtial team which included a woman officer. The Tahsildar reportedly harassed the woman officer when they went to conduct an enquiry at Nukapalli Indiramma housing site three days ago. In this regard, she lodged a complaint with Jagtial town police. Based on the complaint, police arrested Tahsildar after conducting an enquiry and produced him before the court.
