Hyderabad: Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to India, Bobokalonzoda Lukmon, proposed collaboration with the Telangana State Archives on the translation, transliteration, and publication of rare manuscripts under the cultural exchange programme between India and Tajikistan.

During a visit to the State Archives here, Lukmon expressed his admiration for the rare manuscripts and the vast collection of historical records preserved by the institution.

The Ambassador said he would be honoured to see the rare manuscripts preserved in the Telangana State Archives translated into the Tajik language and observed such an initiative would enable the people of Tajikistan to gain greater knowledge and understanding from India.

State Archives director Dr Zareena Parveen explained a ‘Shikasta’ Persian manuscript, highlighting the specialised expertise required to interpret such rare and complex historical records. State Archives assistant director MA Raqeeb briefed the Ambassador about the ongoing digitisation project of the archives. Assistant directors Sandhya Rani and G Srikanth were also present on the occasion.
