Nirmal: Forest Minister Allola Indrakaran Reddy instructed officials concerned to take action against developers of illegal layouts in Nirmal town. He toured the flood-affected areas here on Wednesday.
Indrakaran said that Ibrahim Tank was brimmed with rainwater and opined that the flood water was not discharged from the water body due to illegal layouts. He told officials to take steps to release water from the tank and to remove the unauthorized layouts at the earliest. He stated that stringent action would be taken against the developers who develop the layouts.
The Minister later inspected a power sub-station which was inundated by rainwater at Divyanagar. He asked the officials to empty the water and restore the supply of electricity. He was accompanied by municipal chairperson Gandrath Eshwar, former DCCB Chairman Ramkishan Reddy, TRS leader P Ramchander and many others.
In a similar event, Indrakaran instructed officials to commence works of the 33/11 KV power substation at Madhapur village in Soan mandal soon. He said that many villages would be able to overcome power outages and fluctuations of electricity with the advent of the facility. He thanked power minister Jagadish Reddy for granting the substation.
Reviewing the situation of floods with district authorities in Nirmal, the Minister told the Collector and officials concerned to be cautious of the natural calamity. He found out the details of inflows to irrigation projects and the impact of the Gulab cyclone on the district. He told the district administration mechanism to chalk out plans to tackle the floods and to prevent damage to property and humans.
