Take paddy procurement as challenge: Jagadish tells officials
Speaking at a review meeting with officials of Nalgonda, Yadadri-Bhongir and Suryapet district here on arrangements for paddy procurement, Jagdish Reddy said that erstwhile Nalgonda district topped the State in paddy procurement last Yasangi crop season.

Nalgonda: Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy on Monday said officials should take procurement of paddy as a challenge as Vaanakalam production is expected to be much more than the Yasangi crop.
Speaking at a review meeting with officials of Nalgonda, Yadadri-Bhongir and Suryapet district here on arrangements for paddy procurement, Jagdish Reddy said that erstwhile Nalgonda district topped the State in paddy procurement last Yasangi crop season. The credit for this goes to the joint efforts of agriculture, marketing and other department officials, he said.
He said the State government had taken up special measures to procure paddy till the last grain in Yasangi despite the pandemic, indicating he priority given by the State government to protect interests of farmers. “The initiatives of the State government helped farmers get Minimum Support Price for their produce even during pandemic times also,” he said.
The Minister also underlined the need to take up required steps to purchase cotton from farmers through Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) purchasing centres.
Nalgonda Zilla Parishad Chairman Banda Narender Reddy, Nalgonda district Collector Prashant Jeevan Patil, Yadadri-Bhongir district collector Anitha Ramachandran, Suryapet district T Vinay Krishna Reddy, MLAs Kancherla Bhupal Reddy, Pylla Shaker Reddy, Ravindfra Kumar Nailk and Bhasker Rao were also attended the review meeting.
