Hyderabad: Women and Child Welfare Minister Satyavathi Rathod on Thursday asked officials to give special focus on giving proper treatment to the children affected by Covid-19.

Speaking after inaugurating a separate isolation centre established for Covid-affected children at Shishu Vihar here, she said kits with medicines should be provided to them. She also inspected the children’s help desk established recently, and enquired with officials about the response.

The Minister visited every ward and enquired about the facilities provided to children. She inspected the stock room and kitchen to ascertain about the nutritious food provided to Covid affected children. She gave instructions to arrange vehicles in all districts in the State to shift children to the nearest hospital for proper treatment.

The Department of Women Development and Child Welfare has made necessary arrangements at the isolation centre to take care of children whose parents were affected with Covid.
