Karimnagar: Public Health Director D Srinivas Rao instructed the health officials to take steps to check the spread of Covid cases in the district. In the wake of a spurt in Covid cases in the district, Srinivas Rao along with Medical Health Director K Ramesh Reddy and CMO OSD T Gangadhar conducted a review meeting with medical officers to discuss precautionary measures and communicable diseases at the collectorate conference hall on Thursday.
Srinivas Rao wanted the medical officers to take strict measures to check third weave and delta variants. He said that it was possible to control the spread of the virus by following three methods such as tracing, testing and treading.
The Health Director advised officers to focus on villagers where a number of positive cases have been reported. Advising the officials to enhance tests, he wanted to conduct 8,000 to 9,000 tests every day. Srinivas Rao advised the officials to conduct tests in mass gathering areas through mobile testing teams and continue the fever survey. He also wanted the officials to take steps to check the spread of communicable diseases such as dengue and malaria.
District Collector RV Karnan, Medical and Health Joint Director Dr Balaji, DMHO Dr Juveria, hospital superintendent Dr Ratnamala and others participated in the meeting.
