Karimnagar: Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav slammed BJP leader Eatala Rajender on Thursday for chanting the self-respect mantra after enjoying power for seven years in the State government.

“Where was Rajender’s self-respect all these seven years? Nobody sent him away from the TRS party. Why did he continue in TRS if he had differences with Chief Minister K Chandrashekahar Rao. After praising the Chief Minister for seven years, why is he criticising Chandrashekhar Rao now,” Srinivas Yadav said at a media conference here. He said the BJP leader was chanting the self-respect mantra only to gain sympathy among the voters.

Talking about distribution of gifts by BJP leaders to attract votes, the Minister wondered if distribution of wall clocks and sewing machines was self-respect for Rajender. He pointed out that when double bedroom houses were completed in other constituencies, Rajender failed to construct even a single house in Huzurabad. “The BJP leader, who always talks about downtrodden sections, has done nothing for the welfare of weaker sections,” he said, and questioned Rajender as to why he failed to develop Huzurabad when the Chief Minister had not created any hurdles for development.

“Rajender, who availed Rythu Bandhu benefit, failed to return the amount to the government,” he said, adding that some newspapers were linking everything to Huzurabad by-polls. “The Dalit Bandhu and sheep distribution schemes were not designed to help beneficiaries of only Huzurabad Assembly constituency,” he pointed out.

Allocation of an additional Rs 50,000 amount for the sheep distribution scheme was not intended to benefit only to Huzurabad beneficiaries.

Victory and defeat was common in the elections. It was not proper on the part of Rajender to use abusive language and provocative statements to gain sympathy among the voters.  TRS candidate would win in Huzurabad polls.

Tremendous development took place in the state in the last seven year under the leadership of Chandrashekar Rao. Irrespective of towns and villages, prices of lands have scaled abnormally in TRS ruling.

Leaders, who were in the BJP party, have not been shined in the carrier, he said and opined that nobody would protect congress party. The situation in the state would have been different if congress leaders were capable enough.

TRS party fulfilled all promises made before Hyderabad municipal elections.
