Hyderabad: Animal Husbandry Minister T Srinivas Yadav challenged the BJP State leaders to a debate on the development achieved by the State Government in the last eight years and demanded that they desist from making baseless allegations.

“TRS and BJP came to power in the State and Centre respectively around the same time. While Telangana was leading in many sectors without any assistance from the Central government, the BJP government at the Centre has ruined the nation with its undemocratic rule,” the Minister said at a press conference here on Monday.

“Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao questioned the Central government on the irregularities in Rafale deal. BJP leaders here do not respond to these charges but make baseless comments, exposing their shallowness,” Srinivas Yadav said.

Finding fault with union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy’s remarks against the Chief Minister for seeking details on surgical strike, the Minister said BJP was the only party in Indian history which used Indian army’s success to derive political mileage. “The BJP is trying to influence the people projecting the Pulwama attack and surgical strike. Even the last journey of late General Bipin Rawat recently was politicized,” he pointed out.

The Minister was responding to Kishan Reddy tweet on Monday that read: “I strongly condemn the irresponsible statement of Telangana CM KCR against the Indian armed forces. The fact that this came in on the eve of the anniversary of the Pulwama attack shows the insensitivity, irresponsibility, ignorance and that is unbecoming of a Chief Minister. Isn’t the valour of Abhinandan Varthaman proof enough? “Isn’t Pakistan’s own actions of declaring a no-fly zone in their own air space for more than 6 months after Balakot proof enough? If these are not enough, then KCR can seek proof from Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan.”

Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the Statue of Equality at Muchintal. But unfortunately, the BJP government does not treat every State equally and extend equal opportunities, Srinivas Yadav said, adding that the Prime Minister utilised it as a platform to campaign for the elections in five States.

After the October 2020 floods in Hyderabad, the State government had sought financial assistance from Centre, the Minister said. “A Central team even inspected and assessed the damage but there was no response or any assistance. What is the Centre’s contribution to Telangana’s development in any field?” he asked.

He specifically wanted the Kishan Reddy to mend his ways and refrain from making comments against the Chief Minister. “It is three years since the people of Secunderabad elected him as MP and not even Rs one lakh worth development works have been executed in the constituency. People are cursing themselves for electing him,” the Minister said.

Srinivas Yadav also took objection to AICC Incharge Manickam Tagore’s comments accusing the ‘unholy alliance’ between the TRS and BJP. “He has gone mad and people have lost confidence in Congress. After Manickam Tagore was appointed as Telangana incharge, Congress lost deposits in elections,” the Minister ridiculed.
