Hyderabad: BRS deputy floor leader Talasani Srinivas Yadav accused the Election Commission and the State government of neglecting graduate voter registration for the Graduate MLC constituencies. He pointed out that only 23,000 applications were received so far against 1.1 lakh graduates registered in Hyderabad city limits during the previous graduate elections
With the registration drive scheduled to close on November 6, he called on BRS workers to intensify door-to-door campaigns in colonies, slums and apartments to identify eligible graduates and facilitate their enrolment.
Addressing the Sanathnagar constituency BRS cadre meeting at his camp office in West Marredpally on Monday, Srinivas Yadav said the ECI failed to discharge its responsibility and had not even appointed Booth Level Officers (BLOs) for the exercise in several places. He also alleged that officials were creating hurdles when the party collected registration forms from graduates and submitted them to the authorities. He charged that the ruling Congress too was indifferent to the process.
