Hanamkonda: Taralapalli village in Kazipet mandal in the district mourned the death of a top Maoist Ankeswarapu Saraiah, who was known with aliases, Sudhir, Sudhakar and Murali.

He was gunned down in an encounter between security forces and Maoists on the borders of Dantewada and Bijapur districts on Tuesday. He was Dandakarnya Special Zonal Committee Member and Dantewada Area Committee commander.
