Hyderabad: Cyclone Tauktae has affected the weather of several states, including Telangana.
Heavy rains lashed Hyderabad on Tuesday morning, changing the city’s weather drastically. The maximum temperature in the city has decreased by at least three degrees to 36.4 degree Celsius, whereas the minimum temperature recorded was 22.8 degree Celsius.
Moderate to heavy rain with thunder and lightning occured in many places across the city.
Several localities in the city, including Ramantapur, Uppal, Narayanaguda, Nizampet, Bachupally, Dundigal, Pragati Nagar, Kukatpally, Moosapet, Balanagar, Fatehnagar, Miyapur, Chandanagar, BHEL, Moinabad, Chilukur, Attapur and Rajendranagar witnessed heavy showers early in the morning.
Electricity supply was disrupted in many areas due to rains. Meanwhile, monsoon crews were alerted by the city authorities. GHMC Disaster teams are also on the field. Officials have issued warnings to people to be vigilant.
According to weather forecast by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the city’s climate will remain pleasant for the coming days, with light to moderate rains towards the evening. The officials have forecasted light to heavy rainfall across Telangana and its neighbouring states for the next four days due to the cyclone.
