Hyderabad: The Telangana Cricket Association (TCA) on Sunday criticised the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA), for displaying “unprecedented arrogance” by failing to respond to the clarification sought by the BCCI within the stipulated four-week period over the alleged illegitimate conduct of the TG20 League and other financial discrepencies.

Questioning the HCA’s conduct, TCA General Secretary Dharam Guruva Reddy asked whether celebrating the commercial success of the TG20 tournament absolves the association of its responsibility to answer serious questions raised by the game’s parent body.

“Does the HCA believe that celebrating the success of TG20 absolves it of its responsibility to let the BCCI and cricket lovers in Telangana know whether or not it violated either the BCCI’s regulations or its own Rule Book? If this is not arrogance, then what else is?” he wondered.
He said that when the law becomes an optional “menu card” and administrative silence becomes a shield, governance collapses from the Rule of Law into “Rule by Whom?”

“Four long weeks have evaporated since the BCCI Ombudsman and Ethics Officer, Justice Arun Mishra, issued a stern notice demanding answers on systemic violations and opaque disclosures. Yet, the HCA has chosen arrogant silence, treating formal regulatory orders like casual promotional flyers and mistaking the throne of justice for a ceremonial desk,” Guruva Reddy alleged.

“From ignoring Supreme Court-mandated Lodha Committee reforms to bypassing conciliation mechanisms, this is not administrative delay—it is deliberate defiance. Institutions are not destroyed overnight; they are hollowed out when accountability becomes optional and transparency becomes inconvenient,” he added.

Drawing parallels from the Mahabharata, Guruva Reddy said the silent elders in the Kuru Sabha remained passive spectators while dharma was dismantled in broad daylight, warning that Telangana cricket risks suffering a similar fate if those entrusted with its governance choose silence over accountability.

“Look closely at what this system has produced. Historic district names such as Warangal, Karimnagar and Medak are allegedly being hijacked as commercial badges while genuine rural cricketing talent is left knocking on locked doors. Cricket was never meant to be the private preserve of a privileged few,” he said.
