Hyderabad: The Telangana Cricket Association (TCA) has issued a formal notice to the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) and submitted an urgent representation to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), seeking immediate written clarification on whether any approval, sanction or permission has been granted for HCA’s widely publicised “TG20 League”.
TCA general secretary D Guruva Reddy questioned whether the announced TG20 Governing Council had received mandatory approval from the HCA General Body.
Reddy alleged that the HCA was repeatedly claiming “BCCI approval” in the media without producing any approval letter, inward or file reference, scrutiny record, conditions or official communication, thereby misleading corporates, franchise aspirants, players and cricket stakeholders across Telangana.
The TCA official further stated that the HCA’s conduct reflected a deliberate attempt to evade written accountability by ignoring official representations and acting as though its inward and email systems were non-functional.
The TCA also issued a public caution to corporates, sponsors, broadcasters, franchises and vendors not to be misled by the HCA’s publicity and unverified claims. It warned that association with any unapproved or disputed league structure could expose stakeholders to reputational, financial and legal risks.
