Hyderabad: Telangana Cricket Association (TCA) general secretary Guruva Reddy has called for the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) to be rusticated and urged the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to restructure cricket administration in Telangana. He requested that the TCA be recognised as the full member cricket body representing the state, in line with the BCCI Constitution and the National Sports Governance Act.
“The HCA now has no legality, constitutional compliance, administrative quorum, or even district-level representation,” Guruva Reddy informed the media on Tuesday.
“Despite the presence of a High Court-appointed Single Member Committee, TCA questions how the HCA continues to function without legitimacy, suggesting that a majority of HCA members are complicit in continuing unconstitutional operations,” he added.
“The TCA District Committees have filed criminal complaints with local police authorities, providing detailed records and statements,” Guruva Reddy said.
The TCA general secretary also stated that his body represented all 33 districts of the state with a newly formed Governing Board.
He further announced that the TCA would organise the Telangana Gold Cup from November 15, to be held in IPL-like fashion across five zonal centres in all districts. The TCA Women’s Premier League is also scheduled for December.
Dr. G Premender Reddy, a member of the TCA Governing Council, also stated that the BCCI should recognise TCA’s decade-long effort in building district cricket from the grassroots level.
