Warangal: Tata Consultancy Service and CII Foundation have distributed 17,000 N95 masks free of cost to the school children of Mahabubabad and Hanamkonda districts here on Saturday, marking the occasion of Gandhi Jayanthi on October 2.
V Rajanna, TCS senior vice president and regional head of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, who is also the past chairman of CII-Telangana, has handed over the masks to DEO, Hanamkonda, K Narayana Reddy, Quality Manager – Narayana Education, Mahabubabad, Buchaiah at a programme held at Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science (KITS), Warangal.
“There is a need for equitable distribution of development across the State,” he said and added that as part of Covid relief operations, about 25 ventilators were being donated to the 12 government hospitals including two ventilators to MGM Hospital in Warangal. “More than 100 oxygen concentrators are donated to the government hospitals and PHCs including in Warangal and Mahabubabad districts,” he added.
Speaking on the occasion, secretary and correspondent of KITSW, and Member of Parliament V Lakshmikantha Rao said that with the support from CII and TCS, the faculty of KITSW trained 600 government school teachers on basic IT skills for the benefit of school children.
Hanamkonda DEO Narayana Reddy has appreciated TCS and CII for their kind gesture towards the school children in Hanamkonda and Mahabubabad districts. “Usually most of the corporate responsibility initiatives are concentrated in and around Hyderabad however TCS & CII are focusing on Tier-II cities,” he said and added that about the collaboration between CII-TCS & Department of Education where about 600 teachers were trained in digital skills in the erstwhile Warangal district with KITS-Warangal being the venue partner.
KITSW Treasurer P Narayana Reddy, Principal Prof K Ashoka Reddy, Coordinator Quality Education Mahabubabad Buchaiah, CMO Hanamkonda Boinapally Radha and Coordinator Media and CM Mukesh were present.
