TCS not keen on calling back staff to office

Hyderabad: Tata Consultancy Services is keen on never going back to ‘work from office’ model even as 96 per cent of its staff is working remotely.

Speaking to a financial news website, TCS COO N Ganapathy Subramaniam said in the 40 years of his association with TCS, he and his team had hardly worked remotely. However, since the Covid-induced lockdown in March last year, the company had shifted a majority of its employees to work from home overnight.

This model, according to Subramaniam, has worked so well that the company never wants to go back. The company now predicts that by 2025 no more than 25 per cent of its employees will need to work from the office. The IT company employs around 5,00,000 people globally and did not give specific details about the employee count in India.
