TDP Mahanadu 2026 to be held virtually from Mangalagiri

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) will hold its annual two-day Mahanadu 2026 virtually from its central office in Mangalagiri on May 27–28, instead of the originally planned three-day physical event in Nellore. The decision follows Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal for fuel conservation amidst the West Asia conflict.

Amaravati: The two-day TDP Mahanadu, the party’s annual conclave, will kick off on Wednesday here in a virtual format, following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal to conserve fuel amidst the West Asia conflict.

Though originally scheduled to be held in Nellore, the three-day event was shortened to two days.

“This year’s two-day Mahanadu, scheduled for May 27 and 28, will be conducted virtually from party central office, Mangalagiri following a decision aligning with the appeal of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on fuel conservation in view of the ongoing West Asia conflict,” said a press release from TDP on Tuesday.

Mahanadu is organised annually to mark the birth anniversary of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) founder president NT Rama Rao (NTR).

Party leaders and cadres across the state have been instructed to organise Mahanadu at the cluster level.

Arrangements are being made for cluster-wise virtual participation across the southern state, with large LED screens being installed at over 1,800 cluster locations to ensure a festive atmosphere during Mahanadu – 2026.

Members of the Politburo, national committee and state committee leaders will participate directly from the party central office, where all arrangements have been completed, said the release.

On the first day of Mahanadu, TDP ‘national’ president and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will visit the party central office at 9 am on Wednesday to hoist the party flag, pay tributes to NTR and honour those who sacrificed their lives for the party.

Later, TDP state president P Srinivas will deliver the inaugural address and present the party’s financial accounts, followed by other programmes.

On the second day, special audio-visual presentations (AVs) will be screened on themes such as the global recognition of Telugu identity, the party’s historic struggles, support to farmers, assistance extended by the Central government to the state and others.

Further, the Mahanadu platform will provide strategic direction and prepare a roadmap for the upcoming elections.

This year’s Mahanadu assumes significance as it is the first such conclave after IT Minister Nara Lokesh’s elevation as the party’s working president.

The two-day event will conclude with Naidu addressing party cadres on future action plan, including the adoption of a political resolution, the press release added.
