Karimnagar: BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar appealed to the people on Friday to teach a lesson to BJP leader Eatala Rajender in the Huzurabad by-election, stating that the former Minister had dismissed the massive welfare initiatives of the State government as peanuts.

The State government was implementing a number of welfare schemes such as 24×7 free power supply, Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima to protect the interest of farmers, he said, adding that Rajender, unable to digest the success of the State government initiatives, had termed the schemes as peanuts.

Kalyana Lakshmi, which has been implemented to help the poor parents to perform their daughters’ marriages, was also criticized by the former minister, he said and pointed out that Rajender hatched a conspiracy to become Chief Minister by revolting against Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. “Ignoring the development agenda, Rajender used political power for his selfish gains. As a result, Huzurabad constituency has been pushed back on all fronts,” he said.

Informing that the roads in the segment were in bad shape, he wanted the people to support Telangana Rashtra Samithi to get all the problems in the segment solved. The victory of TRS candidate in Huzurabad by-polls is nothing but the victory of development, he said.

Kamalakar organized a meeting with rice millers in Huzurabad on Friday. Impressed by the development programme being implemented in the state by Chandrashekhar Rao, 110 rice millers extended their support to TRS. In this regard, they presented a letter to the Minister in the meeting on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, Kamalakar said the civil supplies department has procured a record quantity of 92 lakh metric tons of paddy with the initiative of the Chief Minister. Rice millers also played a vital role in procurement, he said and appreciated millers for storing and milling paddy.

Assuring to solve problems being faced by millers at the ground level, the Minister appealed to millers to extend their support to the TRS party and work for the victory of the party candidate in the Huzurabad by-election.

Earlier, farmers used to commit suicide due to lack of adequate powers supply, irrigable water, and minimum support price. To put an end to farmers’ worries, the Chief Minister started separate state agitation and achieved Telangana.

Despite the financial crisis developing due to the Covid pandemic, each grain produced by the farmers was purchased and the amount was deposited in the bank accounts of farmers within three days.
