Sangareddy: A government school teacher attempted to portray his wife’s suicide as a heart attack to avoid legal action in Malkapur village of Kondapur mandal. Srinivas lived with his wife Suchitha (34) and their two sons, and the couple was reportedly facing serious disputes over financial matters.

On Sunday night, unable to cope with the situation, Suchitha hanged herself. Though Srinivas removed her from the noose immediately, he could not save her. Fearing police action, he informed relatives that she had died of a heart attack. The body was shifted to their native village Madhvar in Raikode mandal for final rites.

However, family members noticed marks on her neck and alerted the police just hours before the funeral. The police shifted the body to the government hospital in Sangareddy and confirmed it to be a case of suicide after the post-mortem and questioning Srinivas. A case has been registered and investigation is under way.
