Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Working in remote areas continues to pose challenges for Education Department staff. In one such incident, four teachers were forced to spend the night in schools after heavy rains flooded streams near Vadigondi and Chelkaguda villages in Asifabad mandal on Wednesday.
Teachers Swathi, Sumalatha, Kurshenga Jalimsha and Naitha Hariprakash had no option but to remain in their respective primary schools, as the overflowing streams blocked their return home. They informed their families about the situation and spent a sleepless night at the schools where they were posted.
“We waited for a long time, hoping the streams on the way to Asifabad town would recede. We were forced to stay in the school as we could not cross the flooding streams. Our family members grew tense when we did not return. However, locals of the two villages provided food and bedsheets to us,” one of the teachers said.
