Hyderabad: Tech Mahindra Foundation, the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of Tech Mahindra joined forces with Amazon Internet Services to enable underemployed or unemployed individuals to start a career in cloud computing technology. The programme will be offered through Tech Mahindra SMART Academies of Digital Technologies in Hyderabad and other cities via online learning.

The AWS re/Start programme is a 12-week, in-person, skills-based training programme that covers fundamental AWS Cloud skills as well as practical career skills, such as interviewing and resume writing, to help prepare individuals for an entry-level cloud position.

This programme will be offered at no cost to learners, and previous technology experience is not required to apply. Through scenario-based exercises, hands-on labs, and coursework, students will learn to build programming language (Linux and Python), networking, security, and relational database skills etc.

Participants will be ultimately prepared for an entry-level cloud role in the areas such as operations, site reliability, and infrastructure support.

Speaking about the initiative, Rakesh Soni, CEO, Tech Mahindra Foundation said, “This programme will help learners build valuable and in-demand cloud computing skills along with an industry-recognised AWS Certification, setting them up for success from the start.”

“The programme helps unemployed and underemployed individuals find in-demand cloud opportunities and helps employers build loyal, diverse workforces,” said Amit Mehta, head, AWS Training and Certification, AISPL.

The programme also prepares and covers the cost for participants to take the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner Certification exam, validating their cloud skills with an industry-recognised credential.

The AWS re/Start is a global programme delivered in 39 countries and connects more than 90 per cent of graduates with job interview opportunities. Tech Mahindra Foundation will work with its training and placement partners to facilitate placement for the programme graduates in India.
