Rajanna-Sircilla: A 15-year-old girl was found dead under suspicious circumstances at her home in Pothireddypalli of Yellareddypet mandal on Thursday. The girl Kankatla Akshitha was found hanging with a scarf from the ceiling in the home when other family members woke up in the morning. While family members informed that Akshitha ended life by hanging herself, grandparents expressed doubt and staged a protest over the issue.
Malleshan, the girl’s father, married another woman Rajitha after the death of his first wife Balamani some years ago. Mallesham and Balamani had two daughters Dikshitha and Akshitha. Akshitha, who is studying class X in Venkatapur government High School, was found hanging from the ceiling in the home in the morning. While the body was being shifted to Sircilla hospital for postmortem, grandparents of the girl (parents of Balamani) staged a rasta roko on the main road. They alleged that Akshitha’s parents killed her and were trying to project the murder as a suicide. Police shifted the body to the hospital for postmortem by convincing the agitating relatives. Based on the complaint lodged by Dasari Hanumaiah, grandfather of the deceased, cops registered a case and are investigating.
