Hyderabad: One more person was held in the city for growing a cannabis plant in the courtyard of his house here.
According to the Saifabad police, Mohammed Arif (19), a local bandmaster, was addicted to marijuana and being a regular user, had found it difficult to source his daily supply after the recent police crackdown on ganja peddling in Dhoolpet and Mangalhat.
Following this, Arif allegedly sowed the seeds in front of his house and the plants were slowly growing. He had planned to use the same for personal consumption once they were fully grown.
Based on a tip-off, the police raided the house and seized four plants that were being grown in a corner of the courtyard of Arif’s house at Lakdikapul. A case under the NDPS Act was booked against Arif, who was arrested and produced before court.
