Kumram Bheem Asifabad: A farmer and his relative were arrested on charges of dumping the body of his teenaged son, who was electrocuted after accidentally touching an electrified fence laid around his agriculture field, in a river and then filing a missing complaint fearing the consequences of his act at Tonkini village in Sirpur (T) mandal, on Sunday.

Police said Choudari Jayender (19) was electrocuted when he accidentally touched the electrified fence set up by his father Chiranjeevi around his paddy farm at the village on the night of April 9. Chiranjeevi allegedly dumped the body in Penganga river fearing he would be jailed for electrocution of his son. He then lodged a complaint saying that his son had gone missing on April 10.

However, locals found the body in the river and alerted the police on Saturday. Chiranjeevi confessed to the crime after being interrogated. He admitted to throwing the body in the river with the help of Chiliram, a relative. He disclosed that he was afraid of the consequences of the cause of the death.

Police registered a case against Chiranjeevi based on the cause of the death, electrocution, based on the postmortem report. Chiranjeevi and Chiliram were produced before a court and remanded in judicial custody. Further investigation is on.
