Hyderabad: The Rachakonda Cybercrime police arrested a teenager on charges of harassing a girl, his former tuition mate, on social media.

The teenager, M Sai Madhav (19), a degree student from Safilguda, had become friends with the girl at a tutorial in AS Rao Nagar. He sent her a follow request on Instagram and she accepted. They continued chatting on Instagram for quite some time before she blocked him due to his alleged weird behaviour.

Police said bearing a grudge against the girl, Sai Madhav created a fake Instagram account and sent abusive messages and videos to the victim. He also uploaded her mobile number on an adult website, following which she received several lewd calls.

Based on her complaint, the Cybercrime police booked a case and Sai Madhav was arrested.
