Teenager killed by friends over stolen mobile in Vikarabad

Hyderabad: A teenager was murdered, allegedly by two of his friends, following a row over disposing a stolen mobile phone at Tandur in Vikarabad.

“At the instance of Prashanth, his friends decided to sell off the mobile phone and two of them went to a mobile phone shop to sell the phone. However, the shopkeeper reportedly kept the mobile phone with him saying it was stolen and sent the two teenagers away,” the Tandur police said, adding that the friends had an argument over this later.
“Fearing the issue of the theft becoming public, all the three went to a secluded place near Gutapally in Tandur to discuss the matter. However, an argument broke out between them and Prashanth was attacked by his friends with a stone resulting in his death,” the police said.
After killing Prashanth, the two juveniles went to their village and later to the Tandur police station and surrendered. Based on the information provided by them, the police traced the body, which was shifted to the Tandur hospital mortuary.
